Tiffanie McDonald joined USAA in 2009 as AVP of Diversity & Inclusion in Human Resources. The Diversity Management team is responsible for enterprise diversity and inclusion strategy, Affirmative Action Programs and EEO, and selection practices. Prior to joining USAA, Tiffanie worked as Senior Director of Diversity and Industry Relations at Sysco Corporation in Houston, Texas. In this capacity, she was primarily responsible for developing the corporate diversity strategy, diversity programs and metrics, mentoring, diversity and college recruiting, supplier diversity, community outreach and industry relations.
Immediately preceding Sysco, Tiffanie was employed at Continental Airlines in Houston, Texas for several years in various roles including Senior Labor Counsel and Director of Fair Employment Practices and Diversity. As Senior Labor Counsel, she was responsible for providing counsel and advice to Human Resources regarding employment and labor law related issues, contract compliance, drug and alcohol last chance agreements, union avoidance, union grievance adjustments and arbitration. As Director of Diversity and Fair Employment Practices, Ms. McDonald was responsible for diversity, affirmative action programs, protected class and ethics investigations, FMLA compliance, accommodations and ADA, and HR compliance.
In addition to her corporate human resources and labor relations experience, Tiffanie also served as an Assistant District Attorney for a few years in the Texas criminal justice system. During this time, Tiffanie visited Baylor University Law School as a guest lecturer on criminal and juvenile justice issues.
Tiffanie earned her J.D. from South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas and her B.A. from Texas A & M University in College Station, Texas. She is a licensed Texas attorney and certified Texas mediator.
